OK, Florida’s legislature keeps cutting back its responsibility to provide public services. So what does that mean?
When talking about the devolution in state services, we can’t pretend it is simply the product of a few bad apples in office. We’d be missing the point that this is part of a bigger trend.

Funding Education: A History Lesson
When Florida’s community colleges were born, they were an example for the nation. Their funding was intentionally drawn from the state so that each college would have equal funding. They were placed throughout the state so that no person would be more than 99 miles from a college. Delia and Mary Ann met at the Imagine Miami Changemaker Conference on July 18. Delia was teaching a workshop on asset-based community development (ABCD). Mary Ann, an attendee of the conference, was “very inspired by her workshop” and contacted her afterward. They have been working together ever since!
